Baby Girl

Tuesday morning Brian and I were of one mind that it was time,
for the safety of this mama,
to go to the hospital and have a c-section delivery.

Over the weekend I had become pre-eclampsic;
extreme swelling, blood pressure issues and other unsafe stats.
As we prayed, we were at peace with the thought of a c-section.
We also both felt that there was something holding the baby up,
such as being wrapped in the cord.
We were then very happy to have our good friend and ob doctor do the section.
At 9 pm, our wee one was safely delivered from the womb
with the cord wrapped around her neck.

She weighs 7 lbs, 6 oz, is 19 ½ inches long,
and is the most beautiful baby we have ever had.
Of course, we say that with each baby.
Each baby is the prettiest and the best,
Marilla Cuthbert of "Anne of Green Gables" would say.

 We named her Olivia Serene.
Olivia means peace, and Serene also means peace.

Mama still has a way to go before she can go home, but is improving daily.
Olivia, however, well, you can see for yourself:

Praise the Lord for a safe mama,
a new sweet bundle,
and the soft whisper from the Holy Spirit telling us it was time.

God is Good!

  8. I too, was wondering if you had your baby. I was missing all of your "serene" mama posts. I'm sorry you had to have surgery though ass I have had multiple c-sections, but am glad you both are doing well! She is beautiful and I love all of the hair! Love the name Olivia. So feminine and graceful sounding.
Best wishes and may God bless you all during this special time.
