Back In The Land Of The Living

Well, Hello There!

Firstly, Thank you so much for all the kind and caring emails during my long absence!
What an encouragement ya' all are!

Secondly, I have had a serious extended illness since July that has really,
really been a difficult thing to live with and get anything beyond
getting dressed each day a possibility.
 But, Praise the Lord,
I am back to feeling well, and so very, very grateful to have energy, vitality,
 and reasonably good health.

So, to catch up, everything has gone along fairly well, regardless.
The children and my dear husband have picked up where I left off,
doing the cleaning, cooking, laundry and anything else necessary to keep the household functioning. Meanwhile, I was posted in a comfy chair only able to give encouragement and counsel.
They did a remarkable job but are very glad to have mama back in the kitchen,
taking walks, able to be out and about and physically functional!

And my, have they grown in the last 6 months!
Jim passed me up in height around Christmas, Ben gaining on me rapidly.
Olivia turned 5 (Ack!) - Gabe had his 7th birthday,
Scott and Anna came for a visit with little Mary,
Shiloh is talking in full sentences,
We got a scruffy little puppy,
Brian and I both have more grey hair,
and Rose is home from College.

Now that you know everything, here are some pics.

Ben is a regular at filling the soup pot

Jim shot the buck of a lifetime

Scott, Anna, and Mary visiting Idaho

John, Michelle and Shiloh bought a little farm just a few miles down the road

Rose and a sweet friend

too cute!!

Blessings to Ya' all,
with the promise it won't be months before another post!

  2. Julianne,
It's so good to hear from you! Every time I scroll through my short list of favorite blogs I would see "Providence Lodge". And I would say a short prayer and wonder how you were doing with the newlyweds and grand babies.

I am thankful you are feeling better. I hope you continue to improve each day. It is hard to be a momma and be sick. But, in those times, God lifts up friends and family to step in the gap for us. You are so loved!! All those big and little faces just beam with love for you and your hubby. How is your husband and his health? He's been on my mind as well as the church. Being a pastor is a huge job with many challenges and blessings. Our best friend is a pastor and he is in our prayers constantly.

The pictures are lovely. Is that a 10 point buck and a turkey? My boys were "oohhhing" and "aaahhhhhing" over those pictures. Funny isn't it? Your children are all growing up and taking on new responsibilities. I love seeing our boys try new things. Many hands make light work! Although, I don't have as many hands here, as before, but I love it that my children are getting married and starting lives of their own.....but I do miss them terribly.

Please know that you and your family are a blessing to me. I treasure every post. Like-minded Christians are hard to find these days. Take care of yourself and don't push yourself too hard. God is faithful. He will make a way. We women are the gate-keepers! Prayer is powerful!

    By Grace Alone,
    Kim

  17. Julianne,

Just checking to see how you and the family have been the last several months. I hope you are doing well. Thinking about your health and your hubby's as well. How are the children and grandbabies?

Know that you are thought of quite often.....even though we live across the United States, prayers and thoughts travel quickly. :)

May you live each day by God's grace and His strength.

    In Christ Alone,
    Kim

  22. It's been more than a year since your last post. I trust that all continues to be well with you and your family. Been back here a few times, but when there is no new post, I breathe a small prayer for you before leaving. The pictures of John, Anna Grace, and the children are lovely... as always. You have raised them well. I always feel good coming over to visit your Providence Lodge blog. It always feels like I know you in person. Shalom, dear Julianne.
